Why sparkling wine?
2021 – the year of rebirth. The end of the COVID-19 lockdowns and the start of a post-pandemic era. Two brothers take a trip to Tasmania’s north started an avalanche that led to the creation of a niche business with provenance at its core.
Australia’s sparkling wine is taking the world by storm, with the best examples taking out accolades and international wine shows. At the same time, the price of champagne is soaring, with low yields, a creeping climate, and export tariffs leaving the public with eye-watering triple-digit prices for a semi-decent fizz.
Enter Vino Vescence – the only retailer that promotes solely premium Australian sparkling wine. We did this purposefully because it’s time Australia claimed the spotlight and we, as Aussies, put our focus on local.
What makes us different?
On this website, you won’t find anything French, Italian, Spanish – just good-old, well-made champers from the finest producers in your own backyard. Premium homegrown is the name of the game here – but this doesn’t necessarily mean expensive. We value wines made in the true principles of how sparkling wine should be – from sourcing high quality fruit from sustainable farming practices, considered winemaking techniques, lees and cork age and beautifully balanced dosage. You won’t find any wines here that have been carbonated, out of balance, sugar bombs or made without ethical and sustainable farming. One thing that is common across our whole range, from traditional method to pètillant naturel – everything is 100% fair dinkum Aussie owned, grown and made.
Every product has been taste-tested prior to being approved on our portfolio to ensure the quality of the wine in your glass represents the premium image we hope to bring you. We also work directly with winemakers - getting to know them personally and their vision for their wines, which translates through to our representation of their products.

Vasilios
Vasilios is the brains behind Vino Vescence, and manages the wine portfolio, wholesale trade and business operations. His mission is to curate the ultimate food and wine pairing, being an avid cook and entertaining for friends and family.
His love for food and sparkling wine isn’t just a passion, holding a WSET Level 2 with Distinction which gives him an in-depth knowledge and understanding of wines. By day, he is also a trusted health professional, working as hospital pharmacist in Adelaide.
His understanding of the complexities of sparkling wines, paired with his expertise as a pharmacist, his meticulousness, striving for excellence and perfection, means you can trust his wine selections and recommendations without a second thought.
George
Meet George – the photography and marketing mastermind behind Vino Vescence. He is a true expert in capturing the essence of our sparkling wines, through stunning photographs and videos that showcase their beauty and complexity. George is the manager of all things digital, including our social media (@vinovescence_) and website.
When he isn’t handling all things fizz, he’s usually off-grid somewhere in the SA outback or by the coastline of our breathtaking peninsulas in his Suzuki Jimny.
